Osamoje Aikhuele (not real name), a Lagos-based product manager, has accused Wallets Africa, a cross-border payment platform, of robbing him of $250.
The project manager said that despite taking proactive steps to retrieve his money from the firm, they did nothing to refund him apart from making empty promises.
He told FIJ that he deposited N150,000 from his Providus Bank account to his Wallets Africa account on July 9, and it was reflected in his account.

Aikhuele said that when he converted his deposit to dollars, it was about $247, while the total amount in the account was $300.
“Some days later, I went back to the app to make some payments. Then I noticed that my credit had dropped from over $300 to $52 without any explanation. I contacted them about it but got no response,” he told FIJ.
“I have continued to reach out to them, but they hardly reply. When they replied, they said they were working on it, but they did nothing. All they gave me were silly excuses.”
