Two worshippers abducted from the Celestial Church of Christ, Oshofa parish, Wasimi, Ewekoro, Ogun State, on Monday have been released.
According to The PUNCH, Oluwatomisin Olugbebi, the founder of the church, said Oluwaseun Ajose and Dagunro Abayomi, the victims, were released on Saturday.
After the abduction, the kidnappers demanded for N50 million to free them. They reduced it to N10 million at first, and then a million naira.

Olugbegbi said Ajose and Abayomi were released after they paid a million naira to the kidnappers on Sunday.
He said, “They called on Saturday morning and demanded foodstuffs (rice and beans), cigarettes and gin. They said we should pay N1 million for the two of them. I pleaded with them that we didn’t even have up to that, but they said they wouldn’t accept anything less than a million.”
He said the family of the victims could only raise N221,000. But church members and well-wishers supported them to make up for the ransom.
“They did not give a specific location where we should drop the money. They asked to speak to the sister of one of the victims and told her to come to a certain location. When she got there, she called them and they told her to give the phone to the bike rider,” said Olugbebi.
“After like 10 minutes, they asked her to come and pick them (victims) up at the bus stop.”

Oluwaseun Ajose is the assistant shepherd of the parish, while Dagunro Abayomi is a Sunday School teacher.
